AD100 stands for “Architectural Digest 100” – the annually published selection by the international magazine Architectural Digest that honors the most influential architects and designers worldwide. Being listed there over many years places a designer among the international elite and marks a lasting influence on contemporary design culture.
With Daniele Daminelli, an AD100 designer for years, Steinberg gains a creative mind known for architectural depth, cultural references, and sculptural precision. The collaboration on faucet series 355 is deliberately not a short-term licensing project, but a substantive dialogue on design philosophy, identity, and evolution.
The starting point is Steinberg’s established faucet series 350 – a collection that has gained international recognition for its clear architectural line and has been used, among others, in a production around Oppenheimer as a precise, timeless design element. A series with a strong formal DNA that does not need modification to remain relevant.
This is exactly where Daminelli begins.
Within his design line Metamorphosis, he takes up the formal language of series 350 and develops it into an independent creation. The original series remains unchanged within the portfolio – as a reference, as an archetypal statement. The new interpretation is intentionally positioned alongside it. The metamorphosis does not take place on a functional level. The technical integrity remains untouched. Instead, the focus shifts to the design substance: proportions are newly accentuated, volumes are more distinctly articulated, transitions are staged with greater precision, and materiality becomes more tangible. The object gains sculptural presence without denying its origin.
The name Metamorphosis is not a decorative title, but a conceptual program. It describes a process of transformation based on respect. An existing architectural form is not replaced, but transformed through a new design perspective.
At its core lies a clear attitude:
Good design can undergo transformation without losing its identity.
The collaboration between Steinberg and Daniele Daminelli demonstrates that iconic product design does not arise from constant change, but from substance – and from the confidence to treat a strong original as the foundation for an equally strong interpretation.

Steinberg sees bathroom design not as a short-lived reaction to trends, but as an expression of a personal lifestyle – minimalist, functional, and of lasting value. With this approach, the company has won numerous international design awards and secured a firm place in the world of sophisticated interior design.
A clear design language that doesn't have to be loud to be effective – that's what Steinberg stands for. And for the conviction that something special begins where you trust in the essential.
