An architectural statement in metal – Series 290 by Steinberg

For all those who don’t decorate rooms, but design them.

With the 290 Series, Steinberg presents a faucet that doesn't stand out – it's meant to stay. Designed by Berlin-based designer Jochen Schmiddem, it represents a new approach to product design: understated, clear, and deliberate. A sculptural form that doesn't rise above the space but blends into it – as part of an architectural whole.

The series follows an uncompromising design philosophy: precise lines, clear proportions, a solid base – consistently conceived and perfectly crafted. The result is not a decorative fitting, but an architectural object – reduced to the essentials, and precisely for that reason so expressive.

"For me, the 290 series is a piece of built attitude," says designer Jochen Schmiddem. "It doesn't compete with the architecture, but rather interacts with it. Every detail is deliberately placed; nothing speaks louder than necessary."

The series is characterized by its calm, powerful base – a metallic presence from which the form naturally develops. The balanced silhouette acts as a constructive element in the space – clear, grounded, and independent.

"Series 290 is intended for architects, planners, and designers who design spaces, not decorate them," says Johannes Löhnert, Managing Director of Steinberg. "It exemplifies our claim: design with attitude, quality with lasting value."

Since its founding in 2002, Steinberg has stood for high-quality
